Air Shipment of Llewellin Setter Pups

There are some things you will need to know if air shipment of your Lynnhill puppy is contemplated.

You cannot switch a live animal between airlines. Therefore if there are no direct flights to your destination out of Erie or Pittsburgh you may have to go to the nearest airport with direct service to collect the pup.

Animal shipment policies and prices have been under constant review since 9/11 and today are being quoted on a day by day basis due to the out of control fuel cost issue.

Some airlines. US Airways for example, will no longer accept live animals for shipment.

There are two ways to ship a pup. These are by Air Freight or by VIP Service, which is counter to counter. VIP costs about $100 more. In normal weather, freight works fine.

As of this writing the average costs are $180 by Air Freight and $275 by VIP. Additional costs include $40 for an Interstate Veterinary Certificate and around $40 for a shipping crate, unless you send us one. If delivered to Erie Airport there is a $25 charge and to Pittsburgh a $75 charge.
